The Generation Next Project was led by Donny Trankler. A group of 6 Generation Next volunteers, 1 Leu Civic Center volunteer and 3 staff completed the Beautification Project on Saturday June 4th, 2011. Generation Next is a group of young working professional volunteers determined to help the community through various projects such as beautification and fundraising. Generation Next Project and the Leu Civic Center Inc, are both United Way agencies partnering together to help youth and family programs within our community.  After a lot of hard-work on everyone’s part the landscaping project was completed despite the extreme heat. The Generation Next volunteers saved us 20 hours of work valued at $417.00. The project was a huge success thanks to so many amazing volunteers.

Dr. Back VISITS THE LCC
Dr. Back from Dr. Parmlee’s office visited the children at the Leu Civic Center in February for dental health month. He brought along an educational video to show the children on the importance of good dental health and provided toothpaste and toothbrushes for the children.

Councilman Paul Schorr visited Leu Civic Center, Inc. (A local United Way Agency) for Earth Day April 2011. He discussed recycling projects, made homemade ice-cream for the kids and served it with gummy worms.

Everyone,

I would like to personally thank you for making the Leu Civic Center "Angel Tree Project" a wonderful success. This is the 12th year for this project, and we could not have done it without the amazing support of this community.  There were 45 names on our tree this year, and you have helped to make the holidays brighter for each one of them.

I would also like to thank St. John Church, Tuesday Woman's Club, Mascoutah Rotary Club, St. Martins of Tours Church, and our many friends and supporters. Their generous donations have provided direct support to local youth and families.

Each year it becomes more and more difficult to collect the donations we need, but this year we did again thanks to the wonderful support from local churches, civic groups and individuals!  Thank you for sharing your holiday spirit with us.

Sincerely,

Patty Peek
